Bishop leads Middle East pilgrimage this autumn
The Bishop of Wakefield, Rt Revd Tony Robinson, will lead a diocesan pilgrimage to the Holy Land from the Church of England Diocese of West Yorkshire and the Dales this autumn.
The pilgrims will leave Manchester Airport on Monday 28 November for eight days of visits, services and special events covering the whole of Jesus' ministry.
They will come from churches all over Yorkshire.
As well as Nazareth and the lakeside churches around the Sea of Galilee where the pilgrimage begins, the Bishop will lead his group to Bethlehem and Jerusalem.
"For many, this is the journey of a life time. They will follow in the footsteps of Jesus and we will visit many of the most important places associated with his life," sais Bishop Robinson today.
He added: "We hold special services in Bethlehem, Jerusalem and Nazareth as well as sail across the Sea of Galilee. In addition, we will meet local Christians whilst engaging with the Palestinian comunity."
It is open to all.
Details of the programme are available on the Lightline Pilgrimage website
